PUBLIC NOTICE INFORMATION
Notice Type:
OTHER - NOTICE OF A CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING
Project Description:
The Seattle City Council is considering proposed legislation related to land use and zoning to amend Seattle Municipal Code (SMC) Chapter 23.52 pertaining to transportation level of service standards and requirements for addressing transportation impacts.
One aspect of the proposed legislation would implement the City’s Comprehensive Plan to reduce the proportion of single-occupancy vehicle trips (SOV). The proposed legislation would:
• Establish thresholds to identify which projects are required to take mitigation measures to reduce the number of SOV trips as a condition of development approval and
• Establish exemptions from LOS standards for development proposals located in an urban center, a hub urban village, or within one-half mile’s walking distance of a light rail station.
The second aspect of the proposed legislation would specify numerical thresholds for developments required to provide a transportation impact study, types of impact that may be addressed, and a range of allowable measures to address those impacts.
The Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) published draft legislation on June 4, 2018 along with SDCI’s environmental determination of non-significance under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). At the link below, search for record number “000873-18PN”:
