OTHER - OPCD - NOTICE OF DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE CODE AMENDMENTS FOR INDUSTRIAL GENERAL ZONES
Project Description:
The Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD) is proposing to amend the Land Use Code, SMC Title 23.50 to strengthen protections for industrial land uses in the City’s Industrial General (IG) zones.
This proposal would reduce the maximum size of use limits in the Industrial General 1 (IG1) and Industrial General 2 (IG2) zones for the following land uses: Sales and Services, General; Sales and Services, Major Durables; and Office.
The proposed legislation would introduce a reduced Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 0.4 that would apply to the following subset of uses: Sales and Services, General; Sales and Services, Major Durables; Office; Medical Services; Restaurant.
The proposal would prohibit new Mini-Warehouse storage uses in all IG1 and IG2 zones.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION
After review of the completed environmental checklist and other information on file, OPCD has determined that the proposed amendments would not have a probable significant adverse environmental impact and has issued a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act (No Environmental Impact Statement required).

HOW TO APPEAL
Appeals of the decision to issue a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) must be submitted to the Office of the Hearing Examiner by 5:00 p.m. October 8, 2021. Appeals should be addressed to the Hearing Examiner and must be accompanied by a $85.00 filing fee in a check payable to the City of Seattle. The appeal must be sent to:
