COMPLAINT INFORMATION
What is your complaint?:
We had a fire at our apartment building on Friday February 25th in the early morning. Residents evacuated and Red Cross was on site. Building sustained severe damage and is uninhabitable. The area and sidewalks around the building are not secured (no fence or caution tape). There is broken glass and soot all around the building including on public sidewalks. In addition, our landlords have been telling us residents to ENTER this dangerous building several days in a row to get stuff out. They have encouraged this within the 72 hour window of no entry that the firefighters told us about (first entry was on Saturday the 26th), and there have been no firefighter escorts present. Some units have no floors or ceiling; it is dangerous and structurally unsound. The whole building is also full of smoke and soot, which is affecting our breathing. Several residents have gone to urgent care for asthma/breathing treatment. The building is a health hazard and needs to be secured much better to prevent looters from entering and to prevent the public from walking nearby in case it collapses.
